The story behind the cloth

Inspired by the patchwork of green fields and hedgerows in the Langdale Valley, this tweed captures the colours and contours of one of the Lake District's most beautiful landscapes.

Originally designed by the Lancs & Lakes Guild of Spinners, Weavers and Dyers, the pattern has been simplified by Curlew Fabric Design to reflect the natural rhythm of the valley. It is also available in a timeless herringbone weave.

The wool comes from Cheviot-cross Herdwick sheep at Harry Place Farm, beneath the Langdale Pikes. From fleece to finished cloth, every stage of processing takes place within 100 miles of the farm, supporting British farmers and our regional textile industry.

Woven from 100% British wool, our tweed is naturally durable, breathable and flame resistant. Tested to 30,000 Martindale rubs, it is suitable for clothing, upholstery, soft furnishings and accessories.

From fleece to finished cloth, every stage of processing takes place within 100 miles of the farm, supporting British farmers and our regional textile industry.
