Eskdale Tweed

The story behind the cloth

Eskdale,in every thread.

Inspired by the soft pink tones of Eskdale granite, our Eskdale tweed reflects the natural beauty and industrial heritage of this distinctive Lake District valley.

The original design takes its inspiration from the circular geometry of the steam train turntable at the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, one of the country's oldest and most scenic narrow-gauge railways.

First developed as a woven throw, the pattern has been refined and simplified by Curlew Fabric Design to create a versatile tweed that retains the movement and warmth of the original. It is also available in a timeless herringbone weave.

Made from 100% British wool, our Eskdale tweed is naturally durable, breathable and flame resistant. Tested to 30,000 Martindale rubs, it is a versatile fabric for clothing, upholstery, soft furnishings and accessories.

From fleece to finished cloth, every stage of processing takes place within 100 miles of the farm, supporting British farmers and our regional textile industry.
