The story behind the cloth
Wasdale,in every thread.
Inspired by the timber roof beams of St Olaf's Church at Wasdale Head, our Wasdale tweed takes its design from one of the Lake District's most remote and dramatic valleys.
Dating back to at least 1550, St Olaf's is England's smallest parish church and has offered a place of shelter and reflection to generations of farmers and fell walkers.
Originally created as a woven throw, the design has been simplified by Curlew Fabric Design to capture the lines and structure of the church's historic roof. It is also available in a timeless herringbone weave.
Made from 100% British wool, our Wasdale tweed is naturally durable, breathable and flame resistant. Tested to 30,000 Martindale rubs, it is a versatile fabric for clothing, upholstery, soft furnishings and accessories.
Designed by Curlew Fabric Design and woven in the North West of England.
From fleece to finished cloth, every stage of processing takes place within 100 miles of the farm, supporting British farmers and our regional textile industry.
