Wasdale Throw

The story behind the cloth

Wasdale,in every thread.

Inspired by the timber-framed roof of St Olaf's Church at Wasdale Head, our Wasdale throw celebrates the history and rugged beauty of one of the Lake District's most dramatic valleys.

Believed to be England's smallest parish church, St Olaf's dates back to at least 1550 and has offered a place of shelter and reflection to generations of farmers and fell walkers.

The geometric design, created by Curlew Fabric Design, takes inspiration from the structure of the church's historic roof, capturing its simple lines and timeless character.

The wool comes from sheep raised in the Wasdale Valley by David and Jordan Porter, near Wastwater, and Claire Postlethwaite, whose flocks graze beneath the surrounding fells.

Woven from 100% British wool, our Wasdale throw is naturally warm, breathable and durable. Perfect for curling up on the sofa, draping over a bed or bringing a little of the Lake District landscape into your home. Designed and made in the North West of England.

From fleece to finished throw, every stage of processing takes place within 100 miles of the farms, supporting British farmers and our regional textile industry.
