Grasmere Tweed
Inspired by the delicate lead lattice windows of Dove Cottage — once home to William and Dorothy Wordsworth — this tweed captures a quiet poetry in thread. The throw is designed by the Lancs & Lakes Guild of Spinners, Weavers and Dyers, the tweed, a simplified version. The soft green woven through the design reflects the creeping foliage that frames those windows, blurring the line between house and hillside, literature and landscape.
The wool is 100% North Country Mule, sourced from Hogg Hodgson’s flock at Rydal Hall Farm, just a stone’s throw from Grasmere. It’s a strong, versatile yarn with a robust handle — perfect for both functional and decorative projects.
Designed by Curlew Fabrics and woven in the North West of England, this cloth is made from 100% British wool, renewable, biodegradable, and rooted in place.
Sold by the metre. Approximately 150cm wide.
