The Lake District Tweed Flat Cap The Lake District Tweed Flat Cap

The Lake District Tweed Flat Cap

£60.00

Made by our sister brand The Wool Library using surplus Lake District tweed yarn that would otherwise go to waste, this classic flat cap proves that the best sustainability often comes from simply not throwing good things away. Our herringbone weave uses genuine Lakeland wool—the hardy stuff from sheep that know what real weather feels like.

Each cap uses yarn rescued from larger weaving projects, spun up into fresh herringbone patterns that vary slightly from batch to batch. Think of it as preventing perfectly good Lake District wool from ending up as waste, while getting yourself a proper cap that'll last decades.

With a deep back and crown and the addition of a curved peak, it’s smart but gives an authentic fell farmer look, whether you're actually checking sheep or just want to keep the rain off on your way to the coffee shop.

All the spinning and weaving happens in the northwest using our trusted mill network, then skilled capmakers in Yorkshire cut and stitch each one in small batches. No mass production, no waste, just good use of excellent materials.

Sizing: Small: 56-57cm | Medium: 58-59cm | Large: 60-61cm

Traditional fit finished in a traditional style with a soft interlining and hand-sewn peak.

This is what happens when you don't let good wool go to waste—proper caps with proper provenance, made the proper way.

Part of The Wool Library's commitment to using every last yard of our beautiful yarns.
