The story behind the cloth
Eskdale,in every thread.
Inspired by the steam train turntable of the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, our Eskdale throw celebrates the industrial heritage and natural beauty of this distinctive Lake District valley.
The design takes its inspiration from the circular geometry of the turntable, while the soft pink tones reflect the colours of Eskdale granite found throughout the surrounding landscape.
Created by the Lancs & Lakes Guild of Spinners, Weavers and Dyers, the pattern captures the movement and structure of the railway, connecting the valley's industrial past with its rich textile heritage.
The wool comes from local farmers Claire Postlethwaite, Andrew Harrison and David Crow, whose flocks graze in and around the Eskdale Valley. A blend of Cheviot, Dalesbred, Welsh Badgerface and Texel wool gives the throw its distinctive texture, warmth and character.
Woven from 100% British wool, our Eskdale throw is naturally warm, breathable and durable. Perfect for curling up on the sofa, draping over a bed or bringing a little of the Lake District landscape into your home. Designed and woven in the North West of England.
From fleece to finished throw, every stage of processing takes place within 100 miles of the farms, supporting British farmers and our regional textile industry.
