Lake District Tweed Ball Cap
Made by our sister brand, The Wool Library from surplus Lake District tweed yarn that would otherwise go to waste, this ball cap puts a proper rural twist on sporting heritage. Our herringbone weave uses genuine Lakeland wool—the hardy stuff from sheep that know what real weather looks like—shaped into the relaxed comfort of classic ball cap style.
Each cap uses yarn rescued from larger weaving projects, woven into fresh herringbone patterns that vary subtly from batch to batch. Think of it as giving perfectly good wool a second chance while getting yourself a cap that works from countryside rambles to city streets.
The six-panel construction gives you that authentic ball cap fit and feel, but the Lake District tweed makes it something completely different—smart enough for the pub, tough enough for actual outdoor work. The moleskin peak keeps the sun and rain off your face, while the natural wool breathes when you're working up a sweat but keeps you warm when the wind picks up.
Finished with an adjustable back strap for the perfect fit, this cap bridges that gap between sporting practicality and proper British craftsmanship.
All the spinning and weaving happens in the northwest using our trusted mill network, then skilled Yorkshire capmakers finish each one by hand. No mass production, no waste, just excellent use of beautiful materials.
